IAN SHILLING | Director/Field Service and Workshop Plant Mechanic
Ian is the company director and the principal diesel mechanic. Ian has extensive experience as a diesel mechanic, gaining his apprenticeship with Gough & Gilmour at the Parramatta branch in Sydney before moving to Orange in March 2002 to take up the Caterpillar residency position. In February 2005, Ian moved out to work on his own and created the company Gaamben.
RUSSELL TAYLOR | Field Service and Workshop Plant Mechanic
Russell joined Gaamben in July 2009. He graduated from his apprenticeship with Komatsu and, being aware of his ability, was immediately offered a position with Gaamben. As he was a mature-age apprentice, he has also brought additional skills from having worked in the Nothern Territory on various stations. This work included, among other things, small machinery maintenance.
DANIAL HARRIS | Field Service and Workshop Plant Mechanic
Danial joined Gaamben in March 2010. He completed his apprenticeship with Caterpillar and moved on to work at a coal mine. He also worked in the civil construction field for a company in Queensland. Dan then went on to become a service supervisor and field service mechanic for BT Equipment dealing with a large variety of machines including Bomag, Mitsubitshi, Kawasaki, Yanmar, Mustang and Sumitomo. Dan has extensive experience as a plant mechanic, including the repair and maintenance of a variety of cranes up to 100 tonnes.
MATTHEW COOK | Field Service and Workshop Plant Mechanic
Matthew began with Gaamben in May 2012. Matthew completed his appreticeship with Bathurst Regional Council in 2009. In 2010, Matthew joined Whittaker Contracting as an underground equipment maintenance and break-down fitter and in 2012 joined Coalpac as a heavy equipment maintenance and break-down fitter. Matthew has had experience with maintenance and attending to break downs of Atlas Copco haul trucks and drill rigs, Bomag rollers, various Caterpillar and Komatsu machinery including excavators and under ground and surface haul trucks, Case skid steers and backhoes, John Deere tractors and graders, New Holland tractors, Toro boggers and haul trucks and Volvo graders, excavators and loaders. He has also had experience with have and light Isuzu, Hino, Scania and Kenworth machines and crane repairs and maintenance on a variety of cranes up to 100 tonnes.
GLEN (GEORGE) HARTMANN | Field Service and Workshop Plant Mechanic Apprentice
George has been with Gaamben since February 2005. He has over fifteen years' earthmoving industry experience.
Ian, Russell, Dan and Matthew all have new Isuzu 450 trucks fitted with service type bodies. All trucks are fitted with Palfinger cranes, K30 Pilot air compressors, 225 amp welders and all the tooling required to complete most earthmoving diagnosis and repairs. We also have access to laptop programs to assist with diagnostic work.
BEN SIDLO | Business Manager
Ben became Gaamben's Business Manager in November 2010. Having originally been trained as a fitter and machinist, Ben then focussed on management, becoming a retail manager of gas and gear. Ben then moved into a local business banking role before becoming a finance manager with a local crane company. With his extensive skills in management and finance, Ben was employed as Gaamben's first Business Manager.
KERRI MCEVOY | Administration Officer
Kerri joined the Gaamben team in July 2012 and is responsible for customer invoicing, timesheet management, recording of KPIs and daily bookkeeping. Kerri has 15 years' experience in civil construction administration. She holds a Diploma in Business Management, Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety, Cert IV in Training and Assessment and is currently completing her Cert IV in Human Resources.
LUCY SHILLING | Administration Officer
Lucy manages Gaamben's payroll, accounts payable and taxes. Lucy's background is in management and has worked primarily in the financial planning industry. Lucy holds a Diploma in Financial Markets.
